It seems certain foods give me a yeast infection around my bottom. I know we need to stay away from sugars. I’m talking about Cheerios and Rice Krispies, very strange. I’m trying to increase my iron intake because I’m anemic. I have to take Fluconazole orally and spray my bottom with athletes foot spray to get rid of the infection. Does anyone else have this problem?

I get a yeasty butt sometimes, too.  I put jock itch cream on the perianal area and it seems to do the trick.  And yes, sugar and refined carbs (like those cereals) can be a culprit, but sometimes I wonder if yeast isn't kinda opportunistic, like because our systems are out of balance from not having a colon?  I don't know...

How much Fluconazole do you have to take to clear it up and for how long?  Are there any side effects?  Do you have to take it often?

What symptoms do you guys have with the yeast infections??? Does the asshole look a certain way???

Things are really itchy and kinda burny, kind of like when you get a vaginal one.  Sometimes a clear liquid comes out at night-that might be when the yeast has made it further up into the anal canal and maybe even into the pouch.  This happened to me when the pouch wasn't yet connected as well.  I told the doc it was yeast, he ignored me, then he got all freaked out when he saw it and quarantined me in the hospital until they could run some tests.  Turned out it was yeast, just like I said.  I know yeast.  I haven't used the squatting over the mirror technique for the yeast, just the hemorrhoids, so I don't know if the yeast has any particular visual characteristics.  I do know that the jock itch cream clears it up, which is exactly what it's designed to do!

That is so stupid that the doctor ignored what you were saying, classic narcissism.

I bet he was embarassed when you were right!

The yeast sounds terrible! When I used the sensi care skin barrier cream it made my butthole itch like crazy!!! Itchy 24/7, maybe that cream gave me a yeast infection. The doctor gave me steroid and anti-fungal cream and that made it soo much better!

The jock itch cream you had is made for anti-fungal stuff which is good.

Do you use the jock itch cream often or as needed??

Yeah, I learned later that the doc didn't even record my correct information in the paperwork which was later confirmed by his test.  I don't know if he was exactly a pathological narcissist (like for example, DT/45), but he definitely didn't like that I told him what he considered his business.

Yes the jock itch is antifungal and I use it whenever that particular type of itch arises. Sometimes it's difficult to determine whether butt itch is just hemorrhoids, though.  Wish the itches felt different!!

Honestly most doctors are narcissists, they think they are right all of the time which is crazy! We know our body and they never had a j-pouch before, you would think they would consider someone that has physically been through something emotionally and physically and take that into consideration. I like liberal/open-minded doctors.

What jock itch cream do you use??? And can you use any jock itch cream technically???

@Former Member, I haven't experimented with multiple jock itch creams.  The one I have tried which seems to work is Walgreens generic "Butenafine Hydrochloride Cream 1%."

I like prefer normal humans as doctors, too!

Oh nice!!! Thank-you for that info!!!

I remember you said Calmospetine is not good for yeast infections because it traps the yeast???
