Without imuran

I had u.c at the rectum 6 years ago and as a result I have two fistulas. My dr gave imuran and my life is perfect for 6 years. I quit imuran about 1 year ago. Firstly some ulsers were seen at my rectum and I used antibiotics about 2 months. And it passed ana I was fine. 3 months later I had pouchitist. I used antibiotics and I was fine again. By the way I had flu 3 or 4 times in this year.

My question is these all occured because I quit imuran. İf this is the case what can I do? Because I donot want to use it again. Unfortunately I have sorethroat now

Why don't you want to use Imuran any more? Did it cause unacceptable side effects?

Yes. My doc said that it will have serious side effects in long term like lymphoma ☹️

Lymphoma is a very rare side effect from Imuran. I wouldn't take it just for fun, but if you really need it then it's likely worth the risk. No one can tell you for sure if the problems were caused by stopping the Imuran, but you could start it up again and see if things improve.

How about going back on Imuran at a lower dose? Most side effects, even long term ones, are often dose related? Also, if combined with a biologic, you definitely can go on a low dose.
