I've had a headache since May and we have tried everything to get rid of it. Last month my neurologist tried me on Topiramate, (the generic for Topomax), and while it did nothing for my headache, my pouchitis symptoms were completely absent for the entire month. I stopped it a week ago, and now I back on Flagyl. I have been trying to figure out how a migraine preventative/ anti-seizure medication could be so effective, at least for me. It did come with a host of side effects, particularly at the very high dose he had prescribed for me, so it is not a drug I would want to take long-term, but it does have me puzzled.
Anyone have any thoughts?
