Hi ladies

For those who have had a baby with a pouch or for those due soon, when are you going off on maternity/annual leave before the birth?

My C-section is planned and is booked in for 7th May. Clearly that is a long time ahead and anything could happen but I have no idea how much time to take off before the 7th???? Some women take two weeks, some work up until their due date but I am thinking that us pouch ladies surely get a rougher time....

I could take up to a month before off as I have some annual leave owing but obviously I want to spend the max. time with the baby if poss.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I had no problems working up until the end. In the U.S. this is usually the norm. It really depends on what job you do. If it's a desk job and you have a bathroom nearby (as your frequency will pick up quite a bit in the 3rd trimester), then you could probably make it until the end if you want. I couldn't imagine working in manufacturing type job or a job on my feet for all or most of the day.

My c-section is schedule for March 4, which is a Monday. I'm planning to work up until the Wednesday before and give myself a few days off to relax. I think I'll go stir crazy if I take off too much time :-) That is if my baby boy hangs on that long! So far my pregnancy has been great and other than feeling tired I feel good so hopefully that continues!
