i am 5-6 weeks out and going 10x a day. ends up i had a stricture and before that was going like 25 times.

i wanna start eating fruit. all i'm eating now is breads, meats. i feel icky and heavy. craving a juicy peach.

or do i need to wait a few months? I heard some people did not eat fruit until after 6 months. how about any of these?

- peaches
- pears
- blueberries
- mango
- melon

i heard that it's bad to introduce food early because it causes a lot of diarrhea.

thanks all.

I'm about 4 weeks out and my surgeon told me told go home and eat some blueberries! I got the go ahead for pretty much everything. I did have an obstruction/ stricture and needed re-dilation before takedown so he told me I couldn't eat corn for a few more weeks.

Start small and see what happens. For me the worst thing with veggies and fruit is how they come out. Usually watery with butt burn. Chew well.

Just call your surgeon and ask. I've found that most of my fears or questions are eased with a quick call to my nurse, surgeon, or GI
i fear the burn !!!! Big Grin guess i need to apply lots of cream first. maybe combining the fruit with cheese could help?

i dont like experimenting cuz i try the 'experiment' (new food, fiber, etc.), then wait there anticipating a not-so-good after effect! usually nothing major happens, but the burnnnn...ow!. this pouch has me extra alert and sensitive to every sensation! wish i could relax a little Roll Eyes
I eat all of my fruits, except bananas, in protein smoothies. Blueberries are best when I throw them in my blender with a banana, vanilla protein powder, lots of ice and some coconut water. Then I mix in my daily VSL#3DS. I end up with 3-4 fruit servings, hydrating coconut water, my probiotics and 42% of the daily required protein.

I also use apple and white grape juice. They loosen things, can be used to help rid small blockages. I'd just say stay away from skins as they come straight through, unless you blend them. Pineapple is best in the blender. All melons are good.

The skins aren't bad for you if they come straight through, they add to butt burn.
I started eating blueberries and melons the day I got released from the hospital after takedown. I also eat steak and corn on the cob. Not sure if I'm playing with fire but I haven't been burned yet Wink I'm three weeks out and have not found anything I cannot eat. Although I haven't tried popcorn. I do however pile on the peanuts when eating ice cream!
