According to my surgeon, everyone is different in terms of what they tolerate and the only way to know for sure is to eat something, see what happens, and if it doesn't agree with you, to try again later.

I'm still early in the process, but so far (and fingers crossed) most things that I've tried have worked out pretty well.

gas is gas for me. if i eat a food i dont "tolerate" it doesnt give me more or less gas.

on the other hand, for me, irritation comes in the form of butt burn, and a feeling of inflammation/the feeling like there is a tennis ball sized flaming rock lodged in my rectum.

this lasts anywhere from a day to three days. and occasionally the whole experience will throw me off for a couple weeks. (though i dont believe my issues are pouchitis, because they seem to resolve themselves).

it does increase my frequency though not necessarily consistency (my normal frequency is 7-9 per 24hr period, and when irritated can be anywhere from 9-14). i think the frequency increase is a result of inflammation, which may be making the pouch less spacious, OR its a result of my butt hole being shy because it knows its going to burn, therefore i dont get to empty as much in one trip.
