Hi guys, I really need some advice I just don't feel like any of the consultans I have seen have cleared the issue up for me... Anyway I've currently got an ileostomy and have had a sub total colectomy, I've been told that the uc is in my rectum, pancolitis, and if I was to have the reversal operation done (at the moment I don't know if my anal sphincter muscles are strong enough) then my whole rectum would be removed and the small intestine is joined straight to the anus :/ I thought it was an option to keep the rectal cuff and do a mucostectomy? When I asked the consultant about that he said I basically had my wires crossed :/

do you know how good the mucostectomy is? Is there less control with it?
