I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150mg a day now for two weeks.  Today I saw three pills in the toilet after going.  I feel like the medication is doing something to me, but now I'm wondering how much it is doing because I'm seeing full pills.  I've read on here that Wellbutrin SR is not good for us, but I also saw a post from someone that did not do well on XL, but did well on SR.  I know the answer from some will be to talk to your doctor, but the fact is a lot of doctors just don't know about how the pouch works.  I don't have easy access to a doctor either.  I'm wondering if the XL is still being absorbed, or do I need to try SR?  I have to imagine that some of the XL is being activated by my stomach and small intestine, and that some of it is still being absorbed as it sits in my pouch for a couple of days.  I had tried SSRI's but had issues with my pouch.  Thanks for the help.

I was always told not to take anything that is sustained release, because our transit time is shorter than normal. Wellbutrin comes as immediate release, so you would have to take it more often. Both XL and SR are sustained release. I have taken Buspar for anxiety in the past - no side effects, but didn’t see much improvement. Have been Mirtazapine off and on for insomnia, appetite stimulation, (also works for depression) - works great, no problems with it. I am a pharmacist, so was careful about what they gave me. Vickie
