I was very surprised when I picked up my VSL at CVS the other day. It had been pretty expensive already, at about $620 for 120 sachets in March. This time it was about $940, more than a 50% increase. The store double-checked and confirmed that it wasn't an error, so I contacted Sigma-Tau, the manufacturer. They reportedly haven't raised their price to pharmacies in years, so this must just be rapacious pricing by CVS. I'd expect other pharmacies to be less expensive than now, and I'll certainly be checking before my next refill. I have a call into CVS corporate, so perhaps I'll be able to provide more information soon.

On a more positive note, I learned that Sigma-Tau will be introducing their version of a loyalty/discount card at the end of June, which should make VSL more affordable for many of us.
