Please advise the number of VSL#3 to take daily for pouchitis. I am currently taking 6 daily and I am wondering if I increase my dosage it will help with my pouchitis symptoms.

If you're talking about capsules, the ordinary pouchitis dose is 8-16 capsules daily. Most people find the packets (Single Strength or Double Strength) a bit easier to deal with at that dose. Sometimes you can get insurance to cover the prescription-only double-strength (DS) packets.
Are the packets more effective with pouchitis than taking capsules. Do you take one packet per day?

The packets and capsules are the same active product, with the same effectiveness (for the same dose). I take 4 DS packets daily, because that's what it seems to take for me to get the intended results.
I take the double strength (DS) 2x a day. Is prescription. Good Luck!

Note that only the double-strength packets are by prescription. The single-strength packets are OTC.
My son takes between 2 to 4 packets of the VSL DS daily. We are talking to insurance right now to get it covered. There are also coupons for regular VSL and DS on VSL's website.
