Vitamin D level too low

My vitamin D levels have dropped from 12 to >4 even though I am taking 5000 IU of Vitamin D a day. Weird. Normal levels are between 30 and 80. H as anyone here had the 50,000 IU infusion?

No...I didn't do infusions, but my Vit D all but dissappeared after my surgeries. I took a prescription suppliment and it came back...seems to be OK now....we hear this type of thing alot on this site...not sure what causes it.

Not by IV but I have tried taking 50,000 units. I have to take 5,000 IU hard pills a day. If I take the gel tabs then my levels drop. Just something to consider.
