The best option is really what works for you. The packets are the best value, that being said they are "harder" to take. I usually blend mine in a protein shake, although I have just poured it into my mouth and swallowed it but I don't find that ideal.

I have taken the capsules and they are ok but I have to take many more to make up the difference in probiotics.

It’s very hard to know how much is needed for “maintenance.” Many people will develop pouchitis only very infrequently without any probiotic at all. Since Visbiome is expensive as hell, trying a fairly low dose is probably a good idea, with a plan to explore increasing it if the frequency of pouchitis proves undesirable/unacceptable.
