Virus/ Parasite treatment

Hi everyone

Iam wondering if anyone has connected their bowel disease with a virus/parastre and what treatment that would be. I was told my trip to Costa Rica many years ago may have picked something up as my uc stared soon after I returned home.

I would love to be drug free in remission but I may try stelara if my quality of like doesn't return soon.

For pouchitus and fustulas.

There’s known evidence of some viruses causing auto-immune reactions through a variety of mechanisms. I don’t think that changes the treatment approach though.
