I wonder why the vegetarian diet was not working, in what ways was the vegetarian diet not working???
Did not resolve the Ulcerative Colitis symptoms I was having. I never got to figure out what would really fix it, as I had surgery forced due to Prednisone starting to fail to work and there being nothing left medication wise for maintaining remission.
Some quick things to share.
Garden of Life makes vegan supplements. Taking Organic Plant Calcium & Mens Multi.
Also taking Jarrow Formulas Methyl B-12/Methyl Folate.
For fiber I use something made from Acacia. RenewLife Organic Clear Prebiotic.
For smoothies, Sunwarrior Protien Warrior Blend Vanilla.
Amy's has amazing vegan stuff now. I can confidently say their vegan mac&cheese tastes better than any "real" mac and cheese I have ever had.
The fake loose cheeses you can buy are good. Daiya, and Follow your Heart are two brands I have found so far that work well. They do melt on the vegan pizzas I can get at Sprouts/Whole Foods.
I have not found a vegan butter that is not good, of the ones currently available. They are all tasty so far on bread or using in stir frys I have tried.
Del Taco has has Beyond Burger tacos and burritos that are vegan when without cheese and sour cream. They are proud to have vegan options.
Carl's Jr also has a burger that is vegan without cheese, but I find the staff tend to like putting mayo on it, so be careful where you order it. I think it is just bad employees, as I don't get this issue at Del Taco.
Taco Bell can make a lot of things Vegan, but I have not ordered there since going vegan.
Grocery Outlet tends to have a lot of random vegan options. Good place to check out.
Digestion is still better, and so far is improving since going vegan. I was probably having an issue with dairy, but not sure totally as I went cold turkey all at once with my diet.
