i had a collectomy in mid 2012 due to colon cancer, and was given a j-pouch. i (and my doctor) had thought i'd had crohn's disease, but the colonoscopy that showed the cancer (and examining my colon post-removal!) convinced him that i'd had ulcerative colitis all along. anyway, said j-pouch...never really worked right. it was always inflamed, and no medication seemed to improve it. in july 2014 i got a loop ileostomy, and my j-pouch remained in place, just unused, until my doctors can figure out what to do - the plan is eventually to get rid of the ostomy, either by constructing a new j-pouch, or forming a k-pouch. no one knows whether i have crohn's disease or not, basically, and what they do will hinge on that. so, just to give a little background.

anyway, for the last couple weeks i've been feeling this sort of dull, aching pain in my vagina that comes and goes. it's mostly vaginal, but does radiate back towards the j-pouch sometimes. it's been happening almost every day for almost a month now, though. i've never had anything similar before this. of course my first instinct was to go to the ob-gyn. he found nothing wrong at all, though he did feel something between my uterus and rectum (well, he said uterus and rectum, but i don't have a rectum, sooo...) when i explained my medical history he said it was probably something to do with my surgery (scarring, etc.) but obviously i fear the worst. :s anyway, has anyone ever had something like this happen, or know what it could be?

What comes to mind is first adhesions preventing normal movement of your uterus. The other thing is a possible abscess and/or sinus forming from your disconnected pouch. It could even be a fistula. Often they are not visible on vaginal exam. Have you been having any increased vaginal discharge or infection, or air expelled vaginally? That would indicate a fistula.

if this keeps up ask about a CT scan.
