Been a long while since I've participated on this forum. Even forgot the username and whatever email I'd had back then. Last year I thought I had a burst blood vessel in my left eye as it would normally look but after a couple days it started to get very painful. Still ignoring it for a couple days after but soon the pain was very sharp, deep. The eye was looking worse and a nodule or bump was starting to show.
Went to the eye doctor and was diagnosed with uveitis. I didn't respond to liquid steroid eye drops so I was sent to a rheumatologist / eye doctor here in Portland, Oregon at the Casey Eye Institute. It took Prednisone ( oral ) meds to knock it back and I was put back on Imuran. These meds I had a long history with during the UC days so I was taken back a bit knowing that the immune system had once again caused me problems. I'm one year on now and still on Imuran as I'm sure I will be for the foreseeable future. No further troubles with the Uveitis at this point but the other inflammation problems are still on going.
As far as the j-pouch I've had no issues at all after the first two years of adjustment
and the normal situations that come from living with it daily. I do have other inflammation issues that I now know comes from or is related to the immune system issues that started with UC back in the day. I do have and will share with others here what worked for me during my 3 step surgeries as it was very helpful to me getting help here on this forum.
