UTI from catheter during surgery

I had my J-Pouch surgery on Oct. 9th. I got an urinary track infection while in the hospital for 8 days. I am assuming I received it from the catheter. The dr gave my IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics to take a home. I have had 6 UTI's since while taking multiple antibiotics. Urine culture have shown 3 types of bacteria in my urine. I can't seem to get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Decades ago, when I was having trouble with recurrent UTI, I was referred to a urologist. After urethral stricture was ruled out, I was put on low dose Septra for a year. Yes, a year! I have had no recurrence since then.

My suggestion: get a urology referral.
