Using Vent/Filter Bag

My WOCN gave me a Hollister two-piece bag with a vent/charcoal filter on it to see how I liked it. The bag still balloons up with a lot of gas in it, and I'm not sure if it's not working or just really slowly letting out the air or if I'm supposed to do something to open the vent. I notice that the filter/vent is encased in its own plastic thing on top of the bag. Am I supposed to peel that open or puncture somehow?

I do not find they work with an ileostomy. Stool is too liquid. I use ez vents. It sounds complicated to attach to pouch, but it really isn't. I LOVE these. I prepare about 10 pouches at a time, so I am always ready. They are inexpensive and work, really worth a try! Best of luck!
