I know I had a post similar to this before but it seems like its not getting better. My surgeon keeps telling me its normal but its really causing me grief every time I breathe in quick and heavy or yawn I feel sharp pains like I was in a fight with a UFC fighter and they took massive body shots on me. My ribs feel extremely sore. I did get a chest xrays a little while ago and they found nothing. Has anyone else experienced this I would like to know. Thanks guys. Oh one more thing I don't sleep on my sides at all just on my back so I figured it would be better by now. Thanks.
Sounds like costochondritis. This is inflammation of the cartilage of the ribs and is consistent with the symptoms you describe.

If it was pleurisy (inflammation of the lung lining- pleura), they would have been able to figure that out by now.

The good news is that it is generally benign. The bad news is that you just have to let it run its course. If it is persistent or you have other joint pains (especially sacroiliac), you may want to look into seeing a rheumatologist. This can be related to ankylosing spondylitis, which is associated with UC. I know I get periodic rib pain with my enteropathic arthritis, and it feels like I was kicked by a mule.
