Hi All,
I cannot seem to get a full night's rest due to needing to use the washroom multiple times at night. Sometimes up to six visits. I'd like some advice from fellow pouchers.
Thanks
Maddie

Definitely sounds like a problem, 6 times is far to many. What is your eating schedule, sleep schedule? How many times a day do you usually have BM's?
I have been staying up later than usual, but I stop eating by 8pm, I have my last BM around 11 and in bed by 12. Sometimes I sleep right until 8 but I often get up once before, usually around 4-6. I'm lucky to be able to sleep in most mornings and going to bed late allows my partner to fall asleep before I get to bed.
Hi
Thanks for your post. I don't eat too much at night. I usually finish eating between 7 and 8. I take water to my bedroom because I wake up with dry mouth during the night. I'm usually in be between 9 to 9:30.
I'm curious when you use medical cannabis?
I sleep best if I have five hours between food and sleep. This means I do not eat dinner with my husband, but that is better than pooping all night. Try eating more food earlier in the day and less later. Also can try taking immodium or Lomotil at night.
If you go that often at night, how often do you go all day?
Maddie, what do you eat for dinner? Foods that bulk up might help because it holds longer. Pasta, rice, potatoes. What is your typical dinner?
I use cannabis to encourage my appetite, before lunch, and before dinner 5ish. I also use it to help me sleep, it helps me to not get those urges to have a bowel movement, especially if I'm dealing with pouchitis. I have trouble keeping weight on and need to keep eating especially when I'm being active.
I was going around 4-5x per night and It was unmanageable for me- I wasn’t getting enough rest. When I realized I was getting up more to go to the bathroom than I was to feed my my new baby, it was a problem. My doc agreed. So I got a scope for pouchitis.
Do you have other symptoms? Possible inflammation? do you have increased frequency during the day as well?

I haven't had potatoes or rice in soooo long. I will try this, thank you!

I don't go so much in the morning because I haven't eaten all night so my mornings are usually pretty good. Therefore I don't think it's pouchitis, thankfully.
Maddie, I would not go with that logic. When I get pouchitis I still can manage 6 BMs per day. I just don't sleep. Not to say that is always the case. I didn't think I had pouchitis until the doctor told me and antibiotics started working.
Hopefully you don't have pouchitis but I wouldn't rule it out.
Thanks for that information. Last night I didn't drink after 8 p.m. and I was only up twice. I ate though at around 7:30 so that might have been too late. Thanks so much for all your information everyone much appreciated 💕💞
Maddie, this has been discussed here frequently, and there are other good tips in those threads. I suggest you use this site’s Search function to find a few of those. One search term that might uncover some gold is “peanut butter.”

Thanks Scott, I will indulge 💞🙂
