Ulcers on stoma

Hi,

I noticed blood in my bag last week at work. I couldn’t tell if the blood was coming from inside or outside my stoma. I went to my GI, and they want to do a scope next week. However, today as I wiped the blood off my stoma I realized that I have white sores all over it. I’m not sure if they are just on my stoma or inside too. My dx after my surgery was Ulcerative Colitis, but I’m wondering if maybe it’s Crohn’s. My j pouch failed due to ulcers inside of it too. Has anybody ever had this happen? I only have so much small intestine left!

Sounds like it is the outside of your stoma based on your description. I know it hard but don’t get nervous. I think if it’s the outside you will be perfectly fine.
