Hello. About a year ago I read an article that correlated Ulcerative Colitis and Bronchiectasis. Personally my Bronchiectasis developed about 5 years after Kpouch surgery. Anyone else out there diagnosed with it? Just curious.

I never heard of that before, I just looked it up now and I see that there are definitely articles on that! I am not surprised that it is true though. I recently found out that IBD can cause eye problems, gall stones, and kidney stones along with kidney problems.
Its interesting how damaging IBD can really be and what it can cause, its definitely not limited to the digestive tract.
I will say that I believe IBD has made my asthma worse probably.
I am sorry you got diagnosed with Bronchiectasis! I believe you can make it through this, I have faith in you
Thanks Lauren. I’ve had Bronchiectasis for 25 years now and yes, I’m making it through it. 😉😁 Our gut and bowels really affect so much of our bodies! I found the lung thing so interesting.

You are resilient
Are you taking medication for your lungs???
Hi @RedRocker
Would love to know how you're doing now. Been diagnosed with bronchiectasis and I'm obviously very worried. Seem to have been diagnosed and sent on my way. You say you've had it for 25 years, which gives me hope that all is not over just yet?!
Maddy, I’m still okay. I just cough a lot in the mornings and which is good to clear the lungs. I use a steroid inhaler 3-4x a week - more often if cough is bad. I take extra precautions during cold season by swallowing a few drops of oregano oil my mixed with juice daily. Try not to worry, hopefully it will just be an annoyance to live with.
Thanks so much for replying, I really appreciate it. Nice not to feel completely isolated!
I have a steroid inhaler now too and will take note of taking extra care in winter.
Thanks so much!
