Since so many of you have had c-sections, have any of you done a tubal ligation during the c-section? It seems to me that since they already have you opened up, it wouldn't be any big deal to tie the tubes at the same time. Am I correct in that thought? How does it work with insurance? I don't think my insurance covers the procedure so would they just add on a charge for me to pay to cover that part of the procedure?

We've started trying for baby number two so while this is a bit premature the reason I ask is that my current OB only practices at a Catholic hospital, which won't allow tubal ligations. So I would need to change OB's if that is what I decided to do. We know for sure that two will be our maximum. My hubby has always been willing to have a vasectomy, and we certainly would have gone that way if my daughter's giant head hadn't have prevented a vaginal birth, but it doesn't seem right to put him through a painful procedure when I know I'll have to be cut open again anyway. (I'm not interested in a VBAC considering I was going back and forth about whether to do a planned c-section the first time anyway - I figure my daughter just settled that debate for me).
