Hi I'm from Australia and I'm going backpacking through Europe for six months in June. Its only been a year since my takedown so the threat of Pouchitis is still very real, and I don't want to muck around while I'm overseas in case something to do with my pouch does happen. So today I went up to my local travel agent to go through insurance. I nearly purchased 6 months worth, that included unlimited medical cover, before I noticed in the brochure a page about Pre-Existing medical conditions and how not all are covered which I let my agent know about. She found that IBD is not covered and even though I don't have it any more she thought I still wouldn't be covered with issues to do with the surgeries. So she said maybe go home and contact your doctors and see what they say. I haven't talked to them yet cos they are so bloody hard to get messages through so I thought I'd ask on here to see what you guys do or have done in the past in regards to covering yourselves while you traveled for issues like Pouchitis, or any other problem we could have as a result from IBD or surgery? I've looked up some other insurance company policies and this seems like a normal policy.
P.S If you're aussie and have been through this before could you recommend who to go with. This was through Covermore by Flight Centre.
