For those of you who are getting inundated with unwanted email notifications, please go to your profile and uncheck any instant email notifications that you do not want. All new members should do this.

For example, taking a survey that you were notified about will not stop emails from coming when others complete the survey. If 50 people complete the survey and you have the notifications activated, you will get 50 emails. Unfortunately, the default setting is activated.

Thanks! We really don't want to be spamming you guys.

I took one survey though in afterthought it did not apply to me as most of these have been about "J-Pouch" and not "BCIR" or Others. I also noticed that this sudden stream of surveys are all "transparent". Since I have never seen this repeated drilling of survey after survey from the site I am of course curious what the motivation is and what is the reason for the absence of anonymity? Will these results be printed somewhere else and is this also being used for any type of marketing or is it entirely a few new individuals that are somewhat new to the group wanting to get response for personal reasons?

Thanks.

No, we aren't data mining or anything like that. This year the site owner, Bill J, switched the host site from Eve to Hoop.la. For whatever reason, the default profile settings is for everyone to get notified by email whenever there is a new survey posted or if anyone responds or completes it. Bill is going to look into how this can be changed.

In the meantime, please change your notification settings.

I do realize it is a big pain, and apologize.

Do you want your member profile completely deleted or just edited? If just edited, you can do that yourself. But you cannot change your screen name. As a moderator, I can do that (just tell me what you want to change it to here or send me a private message). That will also change the screen name on your past posts. I can also delete your profile if you want. If you change your mind, it cannot be restored. You will have to register again.

Let me know.
