Does anyone have a "comfort height" toilet at home? I didn't realize but my apartment toilet is comfort height and I feel like its contributing to all kinds of straining-related issues with my 3x/day BMs. I got a squatty potty recently--sometimes its a dream and sometimes its not that effective.

Additionally, I feel like my toilet seat is too steeply graded and adds to the pressure on my bottom parts.

Anybody have any insights to share about either of these issues?

(I've had a jpouch since 2009--I'm 32, mostly healthy but I'm in law school so I'm also constantly stressed out and eating bad food more often than I like. Pouchitis sometimes. Mostly healthy though.)

I think “comfort height” is a ridiculous name for those tall toilets. They do help people who have trouble getting up from a low seat, though. The Squatty Potty should fix any height-related problems, though.

Why don’t you buy yourself a toilet seat that’s more to your liking? Even in an apartment you could swap that out, though the toilet itself isn’t so easy to swap.
