Throbbing in anus area

It is not from your pain meds. The throbbing is normal, I had it for about 6 weeks after i stopped taking pain meds. The pain meds was just covering it up.

So it is or isn't from the pain meds?

Like I said, it's a throbbing/aching feeling in the anus area.

I don't think it is from the pain meds, but if you have been taking them enough to be habituated to them, the withdrawal "might" cause the symptoms, but it does not sound like you took them with any regularity. It just sounds like you have some sensitivity/irritation in there. I am 18 Years out and I get that from time to time, particularly if my pouch is really full and I am delaying a bowel movement.

Have you had regular check ups with your doc? If not, it probably is about time and a good time to clue him in on questions you may have.

I have the same problem taking Elavil 50mg for pain. Do you feel the throbbing on one side of anus area? I get it on the left takes my breath away.

It's not so much pain as it is just a severe body ache in the anus area.

Yeah, I know a pain pill would make it go away but I don't want to develop dependency.

I've been twice in the past two months to the dr for possible pouchitis and low iron and going to see a hematologist for an iron infusion sometime this month.

I had this and went in for a scope---turns out I had an ulcer on my right side inside my anus. The only way they caught it was with the scope---the throbbing was so intense I made a trip to the ER. Might be worth a shot for a scope if it doesn't heal. Good luck!

I just went through the same thing. And my GI doctor thinks I have a fissure. So I am waiting for some cream to use. The compound had to be made. A few weeks ago I wanted to die the pain was so bad. I am praying this is what it is so I can deal with it and not go through it again. I had a scope in the beginning of October and he said everything looks great. So I hope he is right. But I feel your pain. I haven't had it now only every now and then when I have the urge to go. Please keep us posted and good luck
