I'm very happy i've found this site! It's put a lot of fears to bed prior to receiving my 1st stage j-pouch construction surgery. I had 2 emergency surgeries after suffering with UC for two years. After a very sudden and eye opening flare up that lasted 3 weeks i was rushed to hospital and had emergency surgery.

After i woke from my surgery one of the surgeons present throughout the creation of my personal Gucci bag told me that i'd have died less than a few hours later if i wasn't operated on.

So as you can tell it was all very sudden and NOT what a 21 year old wanted to go through. the next 7 weeks in hospital was the worst time of my life, through having another emergency surgery because of a kink in my intestines to tubes up my nose to accidents throughout because of not being used to a colostomy bag etc.

So when offered the chance to have it reversed and receive a J-pouch i was sceptical, they promised i would eventually have back over my life and reduce the number of times i visit the land that time forgot to empty my burden. But having seen the change it has made to so many users on this site it really has given me hope! i just turned 22 and i want to get my life back. i have gained so much weight and have resulted in sitting inside at all times either playing games or recording music because i don't want to go out in public yet because of the hassle this bag is giving me.

Thank you all for making my day

Well that definitely sounds like a better lease of life than outputting 9 litres! I hope you recover well and find yourself overcoming the pouch! I still have UC at the moment because they couldn't remove the remaining 20% of my bowel so I am still outputting blood and mucus from my backside. I am hoping that whenever I get my j-pouch I am able to control it as I never leak any blood as of now, so I hope I can control thicker viscosities!
