Hello! I was wondering if removing the rest of my bowel and colon in my upcoming surgery will relieve me of any UC symptoms? You know the standard 24/7 fatigue, joint pain, fever etc. It will be a year this saturday the 13th of may that i received my stoma and i have a consultation that day too regarding my j-pouch surgery. I'm inquiring as i'm 22 now and i would like to know if i'll feel any difference before and after surgery, the last 5 years or so i've constantly been tired and fatigued at all times and i'm eager to find out what it feels like to want to sleep all the time haha.

Thank you

I got my surgeries done because of having fap which caused hundreds of polyps to grow on my colon. So I had to get the surgeries because otherwise I would've gotten colon cancer. Before the surgeries I wasn't as tired as I as I am now. I don't sleep good because I often wake up to go to the bathroom a lot. I usually can get a little sleep but today I got hardly any sleep. Hopefully it won't be like this forever. You might not have that problem though.
