Hello! I'm thinking about switching from Metamucil powder/cookies to straight up organic Psyllium husk to cut down on the sugar and the cost.

My issue is I'm not sure how much to take. Any suggestions from people using the husk on how much works for you? Any differences I should be aware of?

Thanks!

And as an aside, for everyone having issues here or thinking about having the surgery know that it can be a success. I'm 10 months post pouch and it's the best thing I ever did. I have my life back after 12 years of UC flare ups. It can work!

Since 2000 I have put the powder psyllium in my cereal and yogurt. Approx. 1 teaspoon in my morning dry cereal, and same in my yogurt at night about 7esh pm. I've never had pouchits or any problems with my pouch.I buy it at the healthfood store and it is real reasonable in price, and not just that, it does a good job.

I use loperamide on a very set schedule and diet to keep my output under control. I also try not to eat after 7 which makes a huge difference. I find applesauce, wafers and breads help keep things thicker and easier on my backside.

I realize this is a very old topic was just look for a lil advice I'm 6 weeks post takedown and I'm still a lil clueless I take Imodium in morning with a Metamucil wafers and a rice cake then eat around 2pm and maybe again at 6/7pm I also try to stop eating at that time for the day but do you have a snack after 7pm and as far as the husk how many times a day do you consume it and do you use it on food and drinks ? I appreciate any advice
