I’m scheduled for my first pouchoscopy In April and they ordered me SUTAB which is 24 tabs in water in 2 doses. It says it’s for a colonoscopy on the box! Yikes!! Anyone heard of this? I’m a little nervous! thanks so much,
That sounds like a bowel prep intended for a colonoscopy. Perhaps an office worker accidentally sent you the wrong instructions? That can happen. By comparison here’s the instructions my gastroenterologist gave me in January:
There is no standard pouchoscopy prep, so there are many different approaches. My doctors use clear liquid for a day and and a solution of 1 bottle ofMiralax(238gmsor 8.5 oz.) I'm64 oz. of Gatorade the evening before over a few hours.
Mine was clear liquids the day before such as apple juice but nothing red or purple. The morning of the procedure, empty saline from Fleet enema bottle and refill with tap water twice. The product you've been asked to take sounds way too harsh.
