For me I had a 3 night stay...home in the afternoon of the 4 th day. They won't let you go home until you poop. I had no issue with that but my bladder wouldn't wake up so they had to cath me a few times until I could pee on my own. Other than that, it was all very uneventful for me and I hope the same for you. Smiler

The average is 3-4 days. However, complications can arise you are not prepared for. My stay ended up being exactly two weeks. My bowels woke up then went back to sleep and I had to have the NG tube put in, then I got some fluid pockets in my abdomen and had to have drains put in. I am 8.5 weeks post op now and feeling so much better and back to work. Hopefully you won't have any problems and you can go home in the normal time frame. I was not catherized. Had to get up to pee not long after recovery and all went well with that. Good luck and keep us posted !
