Why does sugar bother the pouch so much? I had one piece of cake yesterday and just wanted to die last night in the bathroom. The burning was just terrible inside
Sugar is highly inflammatory. I always struggle with discomfort and major burn if consuming it as well as chocolate. It also feeds bad bacteria in the gut causing discomfort.
I always have an issue with sugar and I love sweets. I always make the mistake of eating candy late at night and when I get up in the middle of the night I regret it big time. It makes it feel like your pouch is trying to push itself out. The pressure is awful.
I'm a choco-holic and eat tons of chocolat, candy (less now than before but still way too much), ice creams... but I don't eat cake. I can have my sweets without any problem as long as I don't eat cake. I think that it is the mix of flour and sugar that get me. So I eat the frosting on its own and give the cake part to hubby...my pouch is happy that way and so am I. Sharon
