hi thank you for letting me join this interesting and helpful forum.
i have joined this site for the benefit of my son who on the 20th march 2014 under went an operation for connection and j pouch surgery.
in February 2012 he went to hospital as an emergency due to toxic mega colon resulting from his ulcerative colitis where his entire large colon was removed apart from the bit at the bottom which is where the connection is, well to cut a long story short he came home last week from the children s hospital but there is no improvement in his condition ,there is two troublesome problems which is getting progressively worse 1 is his sickness , he keeps vomiting all the time and just tonight his now getting nose bleeds along with it, and number 2 since he has been home he has eaten hardly anything, the most food his tried to consume is a tiny bit of soup in which he brought back up, i dont no what to do i have tried anti sickness medication , imodium instants , pain relief liquid , but i have seen no improvement in his condition, im also a carer to my partner who is very ill from previous treatment of radio and chemo therapy due to cancer,i would be happy if i could just control my sons symptoms long enough for his body to except this j pouch inside him allowing time for his body to heal, i keep going over and over what could be the cause of his sickness maybe i rushed him into trying food to quick or gave him the wrong juice , i really dont no what to do i should have done my research i no before he had this surgery done but i did not think he would be this bad from it, im also a bit concerned that the vomit may contain some kind of bacteria and make my partner ill again he is fed via a feeding tube but wants to have contact with his son which is understandable especially since his been so ill , i feel sometimes like i just want to run away and hide because its so overwhelming and i cant control his symptoms ,of course i would never do that, because i would never forgive myself if anything happened to either of them because of me being stupid , can anyone advise please , or say what helped them i would really appreciate any information thank you

thank you for your replies , sorry i have not been on line for a day or so, i have stopped the imodium after speaking to the hospital yesterday , they said my son most likely had the norovirus as it was present on the ward he was discharged from, i decided yesterday to take away the fruit juices and give him only a water based diet starting at 5 mil every half hour for 2 hours then to 15 mil every 20-30 minutes so far thats all i have managed but his kept it down thankfully, i am taking him to the hospital now anyway just to make sure there is nothing else going on inside him, i will post back on later to update how we get on thank you once again for your replies x
