Stricture Dilation

Are you talking about a strictureplasty or an endoscopic balloon dilation?

If you are talking about endoscopic balloon dilation, I had 3 of them done, and they are described in great detail in this thread:

I don't really consider that procedure a surgery. Strictureplasty is a surgery, but it's not a dilation. So I am confused by your post.

Also, is your stricture at the inlet, or outlet? Strictures at the inlet/afferent loop are very common in older pouches due to backsplash stool and the SIBO/inflammation and scar tissue than can be caused by it.

The structure is on the outlet.  Wasn't a balloon dilation.   Hager and digital was done but wasn't expecting the amount of bleeding and cramping I'm having.  It was done a under general. 

So was this a strictureplasty? Was scar tissue removed and was the anal sphincter cut? I am still not clear on exactly what was done. Hager is a maker of digital tools. I am not aware of a procedure by that name. I assume that prior to this procedure you were unsuccessfully dilated?

Hegar dilators are graduated rods used to dilate accessible orifices (e.g. a pouch outlet stricture) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hegar_dilators

Digital dilation is dilation with a finger (digit).

Sometimes the procedure goes a bit too far, and the recovery is challenging. I prefer gradual, repeated procedures over days and weeks, but that’s got its own issues.

I take it from your post that Hegar and Hager are different companies making different things.
