Hello everyone I had stricture surgery Monday and besides the minimal pain, I find I am not having an easier time going to the washroom. If this is possible it seems it's more difficult to go to the washroom then prior to the surgery. Has anyone had any experience with this and is there anything I can do to make this better ?

yeah where exactly was your stricture and where was it located??
Also, did they do "cutting" surgery, such as stricturoplasty; or was it something less invasive, such as balloon dilation? If they did cutting surgery, there can be more swelling and a longer recovery time.
Either way, if you were not told to expect this, a call to the surgeon is in order. You absolutely do not want to be straining. Hopefully, it is more of just a function of being dehydrated. While you wait to find out what is going on, back off of solids and increase your fluid intake. You should be urinating several times a day.

Thanks everyone. Sorry about confusion. It was dilation of stricture under anesthetic at the end of my small intestine just above the rectum.
Thanks Jeane
