I have had my jpouch along with chronic Pouchitis for 20 years. Still fighting it haha! I have now been diagnosed with a stricture recommended digital dilation. Does anyone know what this is?? Thanks in advance xx
Dilations can sometimes be painful, and most folks seem to prefer sedation for them. A finger is no more or less painful than any other dilating tool, but it only has one diameter. Multiple dilations may be necessary. Once a stricture is opened up people sometimes maintain the opening with self-dilation at home, in consultation with their doctor, to avoid having to repeat the experience.
