stomach pain/ obstruction?

I just got out of the hospital for j pouch surgery and I am having really bad upper stomach pains every few minutes. If it is an obstruction, is this common andwhat do I do? My doctor told me just to drink water and g2. I want to make this better before it gets worse. What can they do in the hospital for an obstruction? - Joe
