I know pouchitis can cause malaise, fatigue, body aches, all over sick type feeling... I'm wondering if anyone has ever had a sore throat due to pouchitis?
My pouch is acting up this week -- nothing I've never experienced before, but a lot more downs than ups, so to speak. At the same time I've had fatigue, low grade fever (only for one day), and sore throat (only for two days, resolved shortly after the fever).
Could this be pouchitis? I'm thinking it was probably a mild illness unrelated to the pouch since the sore throat and fever have passed, but I'm not sure why I can't get a handle on my pouch... The pouch issues I'm having are:
- typical frequency for me is 5-6 per day and the occasional day with 7 BMs, frequency this week has been 6-8 BMs/day
- typically I only wake once per night for a BM, a few times this week I've been up twice per night
- my BMs aren't especially watery, they're actually thicker than usual if anything
- a lot more urgency and spasming, and one instance when I lost control for a moment during a spasm and had a tiny bit of incontinence (has never happened to me before while awake)
I haven't really eaten anything out of the ordinary. Typically I eat a very varied diet and don't notice a big difference in pouch function based on diet.
Thoughts? I have Levsin and Cortifoam on hand but would have to wait until next week to get in touch with my GI to try anything else.
