Heavily smear ilex paste all around your Stoma, affix your Stoma appliance directly over the ilex and keep it on as long as possible until you need to change your appliance, ideally, try and manage at least 2 or maybe 3 days.
When changing your appliance the ilex paste will peel away from around your Stoma in large chunks, peel it all off completely.
If your skin is still severely damaged and painful, heavily reapply the ilex paste and stick your Stoma appliance over it again, following same proceedure as before .
However, if the first application of ilex has healed you skin, just applied a small pea size amount of ilex paste all around your Stoma as a preventative measure, don't rub the ilex into the skin, try to keep it on top of the skin, after all, the ilex is a barrier cream, designed to protect the skin.
I've had tremendous results using ilex paste in such circumstances and how I've described.
I don't think using heat lamps or anything like that is wise, you don't want to risk damaging the small intestine which may jeoardise the procedure.
Whilst awaiting my takedown, I was in so much pain due to my skin erosion and out of desperation, I suggested to my Stoma Nurse that I'd read that applying ice will relieve my pain; my Stona Nurse hit the roof, stating that the intestines have no feelings and I could cause frostbite and not realise.
