I have at times soreness from a rash around the anus I have be taken Metronidazole 500 mg and the rash will go away and then return by itching me to death until I draw blood and it starts all over again I have gained weight since my J-Pouch in 2011 at Cedar , I also use Mosalamine rectal suspicion 4 gram ,Nystatin 1000000 unit/GM top powder and Canasa 10000 MIL it  works for a short time then the cycle returns in my last pouch  inspection I still have Colitis near the rectum and lately I have been constipated with constant feel I have to call but very small amount it so irritating and I loose sleep last Dec I had my goal bladder removed with the scaring from surgery  I had my lower intestine trap in a hernia I was throwing up and constipated It happen again after surgery but they found no blockage but it was a cellulitis infection I'm still constipated with the feeling to go and can't I had some chicken noodle and I seem to react to it well  I want to know if I take the  Canasa 10000 MIL more the two times a day will that be a problem  and should I start taking Miralax ?

 

It sounds like you have a lot going on Tom, and I hope you start feeling better soon.  I am curious about the rash, if this is caused by moisture.  Often when using a lot of rectal medication, we leave the outside of our rectum moist.  This will soon lead to a nasty rash.

 

I suggest that you use some baby powder on the outside of the anus.  The drier you can keep that area, the less chance of you getting a rash.  This is assuming that it is a normal type of rash.  If it is something more complicated, well then your doctor knows best.  Hope this helps a little.

 

Also, the worst thing to do when you have a rash is to itch it.  Do everything you can to not itch it, and let it heal.
