Hello everyone, long time since I have checked in here. Happily I have been living relatively happily for I guess over a year now. Best year I had in 10 years.

Anyway, I wanted to share a find I had with anyone who still deals with the ongoing sting, soreness in our posterior-most point. I had always had great success with noxema cold cream in the shower. And my surgeon had no problem with it. I still use that as well but there can be a little sting with noxema when things are pretty rough down there.

I have a new find that for me is even better. Maybe some of you will know why this worksl?? I don't. But actually as long as noone tells me I shouldn't use it I don't care why it works so well. I sense it is both the texture and the pasty, base context.....

Anyway, for 10 Bucks on Amazon you can pick up a tub of Shea Butter. I am going to try and insert an image of it here. But if the insert image doesn't work...it is shea butter. It feels pasty when you rub it on. And oh my gosh does it feel great !!!! good luck everyone..... -Mike

Hadn't considered cold cream "in the shower." As a substitute for soap, I assume, rather than a barrier cream? I use regular soap when I shower, but I can see how removing soap from any contact "down there" would be a good thing. I think I will give it a try!

For barrier creams between toilet visits, Calmoseptine is my first choice. It soothes the burn from the just-finished visit better than any other over the counter preparation I've tried and provides a very good barrier.
I only use Ivory Soap and have for years. Since I have always had female issues/surgeries for cancer etc. The doctor suggested I always use Ivory soap. Sometimes it does burn a little more but I then use the shower head to spray as much warmer water there for relief. The warm water is amazing plus I feel twice as clean sine I have a thing about being very very clean.
Yes, for me it isn't a substitute for barrier product. My go to barrier is ILEX...amazing !! ILEX puts a barrier of almost dried rubber?? against your skin. I have tried calmoseptine and destin and butt cream etc..and I use them at times. but for me they are more messy and creamy than protective. I like that ILEX actually coats and dries on your skin allowing output to just pass thru relatively pain-free.

Yes, the noxema in shower will help clean off barrier creams and mess etc...and it soothes with cool creamy nature. Feels good. And my surgeon was fine with it.

I tell you though if any of you have big problems with sting and sore this Shea Butter Product is amazing. It goes on more pasty and you will end up having to use soap or cold cream afterwards to remove it. But for soothing and putting out the fire...amazing.....I even buy the shea butter soap too.......

(needless to say I have been around the block a couple times with sting, soreness down below)
