In the past I've had Pouchitis several times a year this last bout with it has been a new one. I've had my J pouch for 10 years now and have had a number of issues with it. This starts last December 20th. I was having a low grade fever and all the tells of Pouchitis. My doctor normally has a script of antibiotics on hand for me at my local pharmacy. I called it in and started my regiment. Which was Metronidazol 500mg 1 tablet twice a day and Ciprofloxacn 500mg tablet twice a day and then I'd be right as rain. However after this course I felt normal for the first week. Then the symptoms slowly returned. After a gradual build up to Pouchitis symptoms again, I began to run a fever 5 days ago low grade at first. I thought maybe I didn't get all of the pouchitis. So I called my doctor again to have him send in another round of antibiotics. My fever spiked to 102.7 the night (Jan 23, 2014) I started the antibiotics. This was a first for me and very unnerving. We went to an Urgent Care place at about 7pm that night, I was thinking it might be something more serious. I told the doctor everything that had been going from Dec 20, 2013. They started blood cultures, and a battery of blood tests along with setting up a fecal test. Along with that he wanted to give me a shot of Rocephin 2ml antibiotic or admit me to my local hospital. Not wanting to stay the night in the hospital I took the shot. By morning my fever was gone. Most of my symptoms were gone too. I was passing very little stool and gas most of the day, but I wasn't in too much pain the Friday of Jan 24, 2014. Saturday was a lot better, yet still very little produced. It's now Sunday. Since I was first diagnosed with UC back in 1997 this is the longest I've gone between Passing a signification amount of stool. I'm pretty worried about whats going on down there. I hear movement of gas and stool in the small intestine. I'm not feeling any discomfort or pain, Which is highly concerning because its a normal thing. I don't have a loss in appetite. Though I'm afraid to push more down that way. If nothing starts to produce by the end of day I'm think of self administered enema as a last effort. Anyone have any thoughts on why my systems seems to completely slowed to crawl in this way?
