We moved from another state to Texas. DH found a great gastro guy who seemed to have given every type of test to him, even if insurance does not approve. For instance, a pet scan, which showed in the peritoneum: Nonspecific 2.0 x 1.7 cm right lower abdominal mesentric nodular mass seen with subtle increase FDG activity. He will be meeting with the surgeon this Tuesday. Anybody else have gone through this? Everything else has checked out fine: jpouch is acting great.

Was the PET scan ordered for a reason?
The doctor was being thorough. Also, DH has, for awhile, felt 'something' higher up. He was up at Penn State to check for SIBO the past couple of years.. However, the doctors' failed to order a MRI/Cat scan. This doctor kept pressing DH to explain further..
I had a similar issue. Small mass (almost same size as you described) found on an MRI. Had PET scan which also showed a small uptake. Had surgery (hysterectomy) and found the mass was just the tip/end of the pouch. No mass, no cancer. Hopefully that's all your DH has.
Good to hear. He is on his way to the surgeon now to discuss. It has been a shitty couple of days mulling all this.
Update: DH was operated on today. It was done laproscopically. thank goodness they didn't have to go in the small intestine, so the small mass was just above it, taken out and will be biopsied.
Lablover...
Praying that the biopsy is clear. And thankful, too, that they didn't need to mess with the small intestine. Please keep us updated. 😊
Yeah, it was in the area where the stoma used to be. Hopefully, tomorrow we will find out.
