HI all,

I'm just looking for some advice. I know this could be trivial to other issues but its driving me nuts.

My stomach is just always rumbling esp. when I lie down for bed. I can't go to the toilet near someone for fear of making all the noises. I'm starting to see a girl but don't want to stay at her house. 5-7 toilet visits a day doesn't bother me but the noises do, silly I know, but its affecting me greatly. I eat a normal and healthy varied diet not strong is gassy foods, no soft drink etc. I'm 6'4 150 pounds. i eat slowly and have an imodium with each meal and tsp of metamucil after, which does help a bit, but if I don't its not good.

1. How do you guys go to the toilet without everyone noticing?

2. Any other things to take for this gas/rumbling/toilet explosive issue like enzymes, anti gas, charcoal?... anything that is known to help?

3. Will probiotics definitely help and should I be on some?

Thank you for any advice.

Nick

Hello, Nick.

It's not silly. Have you tried taking an enzyme tablet immediately before you sit down to eat a meal?  The enzyme tablet might help your body digest and break down the food so there is less gas in your stomach. A member here recommended a brand called Super Enzymes. You could look it up and see if it might help your symptoms.  I drink a probiotic called Bio K (50 billion). It helps me get back to normal when my BMs are ragged and loose because I've eaten something I shouldn't have and there is a lot of rumbling and gas. Normal for me after one dose of Bio K is solid, formed stool and no gas. Sometimes I don't need to drink the whole container (98g). I just drink half and reseal the foil lid and drink the rest next day. But usually I drink the whole container (blueberry flavour!). You could look up Bio K and see if it might work for you. Good luck to you.

Winterberry

You can also check out Benefiber or Metamucil Clear, my surgeon recommended these because they may cause less gas.  I use Benefiber and it seems to be fine.  I don't usually feel comfortable going to the bathroom at other people's houses unless it's a family member, because there is usually some gas involved, along with everything else. LOL
