Has anyone else been battling with a skin disease? I have been battling sweets for years. It is considered an auto-immune disease. Although I have not had a flare this year 2014, I had 7 last year and 9 the year before. Dr. Shen knows all about sweets and says other IBD people do suffer from some form of skin issues. Just looking for someone who may have some experience as I can not find a support group for sweets.

Hi ween, sorry to hear about the Sweet's disease. I haven't actually heard of it before reading your post. I knew certain skin conditions could be associated with IBD but I wasn't aware of Sweet's. I just wanted to say that I myself also deal with a mild form of seborrhoeic dermatitis. I'm thinking it definitely is related to the IBD and it makes sense since doctors think it stems from an autoimmune origin. I use a prescribed topical ointment called Promiseb and it seems to work well when I'm consistent with it. I'm not so sure about any topical treatments for Sweet's disease but I'm sure something must exist for it. Do you take corticosteroids like prednisone or anything else as medication for it?
