Dealing with Pouchitis quite frequently the last 3-4 months. I've been on (2) rounds of (10) day Flagyl scripts and VSL # 3 DS and immodium. And get better for a week or two and symptoms return (urgency, nocturnal seepage, etc.) I had stayed away from CIRPO before b/c of side effects, but Doc gave me a script. Any feedback on CIPRO or tips for dealing with Pouchitis as well as any stool bulking success stories.

I've been on Cipro for years and done fine - Flagyl alone never took care of my pouchitis. Although some people can have trouble with Cipro, most do just fine. I use psyllium fiber twice a day for bulking, and have done so since my surgery 15 years ago.
I've been on Cipro along with the VSL#3 DS for about 3 months .. 500 mgs. Once a day
I feel better than I have in a very long time!

How do you take your fiber? Mixing or pills?
Goheels, I use the powder. The capsules didn't mix sufficiently in my gut to do the job. I now mix Metamucil and Konsyl 50/50 and shake (not stir) in a mason jar. 50% Metamucil is enough for palatability, and I don't need extra calories.
From what I remember I had ligament problems...it is like they became fragile...I nearly snapped the Achiles tendon, had knee and ankle problems...took a while but once I was off it for good and with some good PT I got past it.
