Hey all! So for the past week I’ve been having watery stools. My eating has been somewhat good, I’ve unfortunately leaned into sugar cravings. I had my desired consistency just yesterday but I ate a single cookie and boom- watery stool again. I have no pain or urgency and my frequency has honestly not changed.

I feel like eating even the slightest amount of sugar (literally ONE cookie) throws my body off and gives me watery stools. It’s such a pain because once they go on for too long I’ll have a bit of leakage at night.

Can anyone relate to this? Also, sorry if I’m being a nuisance on this page! My doctor actually passed away and his replacement lives three hours away, so this page is the only help I get sometimes.

I’d expect psyllium husk (Metamucil, etc.) to be available almost anywhere in the world, probably at a pharmacy or any shop that sells health products. Availability of Lomotil or Imodium (loperamide) will vary more - in the US loperamide is over the counter, but Lomotil requires a prescription. A BRAT diet is a fairly unreliable way to manage stool consistency, so it’s likely to be frustrating and disappointing. Good luck!
