The title says it all.

After my first surgery (colectomy with mucous fistula and end ileo) I passed a few teaspoons of blood once or twice a day from my remaining diseases rectum.

I've just had surgery #2 (Jpouch formation with loop ileo) and I know that there's about 2 feet of intestine down there - so how should it be behaving?!

This is my 3rd day after surgery, and I just passed a very small amount of brown stuff from my bottom. I thought it should be white?

As far as medicine I'm still on dilaudid for pain and 10mg of prednisone.
Also - is it possible to hurt my j pouch? What if I accidentally strain on the toilet?
When do people start kegel exercises?

It is all normal. Somehow the effluent manages to find its way and exit either our stoma or our remaining rectum. This, along with mucus...clear or tinged with blood...is also normal. Some people experience more than others. And, yes....takedown takes care of it. The mucus is still there helping the effluent pass out of us but we usually don't notice it as we do when we have the ileo. I guess our surgeons just don't tell us everything we might experience along the way to recovery. If it comes up, they address it. That is one of the reasons this forum is so valuable!

with a loop ileo you are still connected (despite what my surgeon was assuring me).  I know cos i ate beetroot to see, he still insisted i wasn't connected though and it couldnt happen... 100% he was wrong though.   That said no, it dint seem to affect mucous production.... mucous is a good sign though.  It means you still have bacteria in your gut, and its still regenerating and basically alive.

I didn't notice an increase based on what I ate.  Too start the was barely any mucous, but then I was in a lot of pain (so maybe I was just holding onto it too much' after 2 months I was emptying morning and night fairly consistently, by bathing my butt in warm water to open the bowel. This made me much more comfortable.

I didn't so much pass beetroot but the colour changed noticeably (but not dramatic) when I did eat beetroot.

I guess any foods that induce cramping and spasm in you could affect the comfort and make you want to go bathroom, but personally I didn't notice a link between amount of mucous produced and what I ate.  Effectively is not connected but I'm just saying for me some stuff could still get through the loop, but not whole food and not in volume
