“Seeepage”………leaking !

This is how pouchitis declares itself in my body. A simple course of Cipro or Flagyl usually takes care of it.

I’ve had very slight seepage/leakage from day 1 of takedown. Surgeon informed me there was nothing that could be done.

i place a large cotton ball btw my cheeks at all times (24/7).

Cotton ball is usually stained when I check at next BM.

its not enough to be alarmed about, but enough to cause itching and burning if not contained.

it was a little unnerving in the beginning, but the cotton ball is just part of my daily routine now.

Thank you all for your input. It will take 2 months to see a gastroenterologist 😕 The seepage causes itch beyond belief. I’ve tried everything. I just wash really well . Hopefully some cipro and that other med will cure it without surgery.

I have been the same way since my redo takedown in 2015, its minimal but it does suck. I put a dab of ILex on my hole and then place a small piece of gauze pad against it. It helps contain, but if next time i go poop if its stained i change it out. Thats why I am so upset as to if Ilex will ever come back. It dries and does well for me and i can actually tell if my leakage is more, but if i use anything moist or slippery i cannot ever tell . I still have some Ilex left but will run out in about a month or so i appears.
